Ana Lopes – Ana Lopes is a fiery Portuguese actress who came to Los Angeles a year and a half ago. She grew up in the Azores, where the acting business is practically inexistent. Her first performance was in elementary school and she got so fascinated with the experience that, since then, she couldn't stop organizing plays and directing short films with her friends. During high school, she made a pact with her parents: if she graduated from University in the shortest time possible, they would make her wish of studying Acting in Hollywood come true.
When she went to the Portuguese mainland to study law at the University of Lisbon, she was selected to become a member of the University's Theatre Company, where she acted in adaptations of acclaimed works, such as The Trial, Twelve Angry Men and Waiting for Godot. She also became the Company's producer as well as joined two other Theatre Companies and acted in student and professional short-films and features. Although she was doing what she loved, she found enough strength to keep studying and she succeeded in her part of the deal. As soon as she got her law degree, she came to Los Angeles, where she took the one-year Acting for Film Program at the New York Film Academy (Universal Studios). She has performed at the Victory Theatre, the Dorie Theatre, The Lizard Theatre and the Bootleg Theatre, as well as worked in several commercials, short-films, music videos and feature films here in Los Angeles.
She is currently playing the lead in the independent feature Are you still Down? (www.liquidflameprod.com/actors) and just booked a supporting role in another low budget movie shooting at the end of August. She is a professional translator and has also worked as a Producer Assistant for a Portuguese company here. Besides acting, she loves travelling, dancing, writing and learning about everything.

Career
•Career Choice: Actress
•Why? Because we only live once and I want to try as many lives as I can during my own life; because I'm curious and acting is the greatest excuse to learn things I would never take the initiative to learn; because I'm the happiest person in this world when I'm preparing for a role and I'm in a different world when I'm acting...
•What do you want to accomplish by this? Besides feeling fulfilled and happy, I want to reach people with my characters and also show the people from my little island and my little country that our size doesn't matter, what matters is what each one of us can do in order to accomplish what we really want.
•What has been the biggest obstacle so far? Being from another country which lead to: my (ex-)boyfriend breaking up with me; my parents insisting for me to go back, pursue a law career and forget this "children's game"; being so far from the people I love the most; the short-term Visa; not being SAG; the accent!...
•What has been the biggest obstacle in the past 6 months? The same I wrote above. I've been in "the real world" for basically 6 months, the year before that I was just an eager full-time student.
•What is the easiest? My strength, my determination, my passion and my addiction to work hard make me believe it will happen. I have lots of fun at the auditions and I do my best when I book a job. And I like LA.
•What was the last thing you did for your career? Tonight I went to the weirdest CD workshop so far.
•What are your current job(s)? Translator/ Trancriber at SDI Media Group, Actress in different projects, Market myself
•How do you pay your bills? My part-time job and... my parents
•What are your plans for the next 3 months? Meet as many big CDs as possible, audition for some, become SAG eligible, keep working on my accent, get an acting job in Portugal to figure out my Visa situation.
Life
•Current Top Five Songs you're listening to: I've been a little melancholic, just listening to my old CDs :)

•Things to do: Act, dance, laugh, watch movies
•What is the most important thing to your life right now? My career.
Love
•Are you straight/gay? straight.
•Do you have a boyfriend/girlfriend? (If so who is he and how long have you been dating?) No...
•What is dating like for you right now? Complicated.
•When was your last romance/date/hookup? (Do I have to answer this?)
•Do you want to get married? Yes.
•Do you want kids? Yes!
•And finally, where do you want to be one year from now? LA, not worried about the Visa and making enough money acting. I want to be getting my first guest star roles in big projects and lead/supporting roles in independent films and developing/ finishing writing my own project.
