Director/Writer - Sassy Mohen

Sassy Mohen was born in New York on October 17, 1986. At age six, her family moved to Washington D.C.. After numerous visits to see her father working at CNN in the early 90's, she expressed an interest in learning more about television and filmmaking. Soon she enrolled in a television production workshop and continued to take different levels of the program throughout high school.

In 1997, she was accepted into H-B Woodlawn; a small school for grades six through twelve. At HB, the individual takes precedent over the masses, and S. Mohen attributes much of her artistic drive to her small school experience. Upon entering seventh grade, she became more interested in directing than acting. At twelve years old she was given the opportunity to be the assistant director of the high school musical, "The Music Man." The following year she was the assistant director for "Camelot." Toward the end of eighth grade she directed her first play, "Murder on the Nile," and continued to direct plays throughout high school, including: "Bell, Book and Candle," "The Diary of Anne Frank," "Moonchildren," and "Book of Days."

While directing plays, she also started working for KIDZ Online; an online news production company geared towards teenagers. After winning VICA awards for her news pieces, she decided to go bigger. At fifteen she wrote her first feature film titled, "Almost There." During the summer of 2003, her principal gave her free reign over H-B where she shot another feature, "Everyone's Lie." For her senior project she wrote another feature film, "Trying." In addition to all of her film endeavors, she also organized and ran the HB Woodlawn Film Festival for two years in a row.

Realizing that Washington D.C. had little to offer a filmmaker, S. Mohen chose to move across country to Southern California. After her first year of attending Chapman University, she began to write a script called "Happy Holidays" during her free time. After another year of encouragement from her friends and family, Sassy decided to take on the nearly impossible task of directing a feature film at age 19. Despite all of the hardships involved in the project, she is excited to give everyone who has helped a movie that will not only benefit their career's but their lives as well

Dillon Morris - Director of Photography

Dillon Morris is a 19 year old sophomore at Chapman University. The eldest of two siblings, he grew up in San Diego, California. Always interested in something new, Dillon spends his time skiing, working with ABSTRACTmall and as a professional DJ, just to name a few things.

Combining his skills as a professional photgrapher and at film-making, he has recently become interested in cinematography, hence his involvement with Happy Holidays. What interested him about Happy Holidays was the size and ambition of the project.

As of April 07, Dillon is in Europe on a much needed vacation after 6 months of shooting, but most of all hopes that everyone will appreciate not only his work, but the work of all the other dedicated people involved!

Erin Mitchell- Boom Operator/Production Sound

Erin Mitchell is currently a freshman at Chapman University. She's the best boom-op ever but secretly has a passion for production design and biology. In her down time, she likes doing her homework (as to not fail her classes) and eating sushi. She's really enjoyed working with such lovely people on Happy Holidays!

Ashley Blair Proud - Publicity

As a member of the Happy Holidays marketing team, Ashley looks forward to promoting a film she feels passionately about. Her responsibilities include organizing and executing a local and national platform marketing agenda, overseeing the design and production of HH merch, and telling everyone and anyone about the film on a regular basis...loudly. Her qualifications include a freelance stint as Marketing Director for Costa Mesa-based Community Business Services, Inc. and a current position on the advertising/promotions team of 10 State Street Productions, a multimedia corporation in Newport Beach.

A junior with a double major in Advertising and Art History, Ashley plans to (*fingers crossed*) graduate in May of 2008 and dive into the real world. A self-proclaimed Adobe junkie and couture addict, she plans to pursue a career in the creative sector of the fashion advertising industry, with the hope of one day directing print campaigns for a reputable international label.

Ross Mathy - Editor

Ross Mathy is a 20 year old junior at Chapman University. At an early age, he knew that he wanted to be involved in the film industry, and has been working on his editing skills since high school. His editing credits include Small Town America, Directed by Jessica Murray, and Pumpkinhead, directed By Lindsey Marcon. Last year, Ross was chosen for an internship at 51 Minds Entertainment, producers of such hit shows as The Surreal Life, Flavor of Love, and I Love New York. Since then, he has worked as an assistant editing intern on many shows produced by 51 Minds, including their new show, Charm School, and hopes to work there full-time once he graduates.
Currently, Ross is juggling editing Happy Holidays, and a documentary called HOPE, which chronicles a performing arts group based out of the Boys and Girls Club of Garden Grove. This summer, in addition to these films, Ross will also be editing the feature film, The Frame, as well as hopefully working at 51 Minds full-time as an assistant editor. Ross is incredibly excited and grateful for working on Happy Holidays (and for such an awesome assistant as Nate Orloff!) and hopes that the experience makes him a better editor!

David Streit - Gaffer

David Streit spent the first decade of his life on the eastern coast of this great nation we like to the United States. Upon the end of that wholesome, yet, overwhelmingly boring period in his history, David relocated to the great California. Slowly wandering outside the mental boundaries of what most simple minded people seemed so inclined to live within, David began to let go of his traditional roots and began to fly aimlessly through the moral trials and tribulations of middle school and the infamous high school.

In those later years of early self discovery, David began to find an unrelenting interest in movies and theater; which later morphed into movies and music as he began to teach himself drums, guitar, bass, and most recently keyboard. In the last two years of valuable life experiances featuring multiple pricless lessions in death, life, pain, joy, and moderation, David has excelled in Chapman University as well as worked on numberous sets including his most recent concert film "Animatronics live in Bekin's Hall". David is also an active musican who plays in multiple musical priojects which vary in style from psychedelic jazz to alternitive electronica. On Happy Holidays David's position was different every day. Most of the time his was a Grip/Gaffer or part of the Sound Department.

Nathan Whitcomb - Production Sound

Nathan Whitcomb is from Fort Collins, Colorado. In the Spring of 2006, Sassy asked him to read a draft of a script she wanted to continue writing. Twenty ages in, he realized it was a feature and canceled the printing job. Three months later, he remembered that script he was supposed to read. He read it, and then began the process of helping Sassy edit it.

Evenetually he agreed to make it sound totally sweet. Someday, he hopes to make enough money to move home and live in a cabin in the moutains where he will write novels.

Ludwig Goransson - Composer

Ludwig Goransson was born in Linkoping, Sweden, on September 1, 1984. On his 7th birthday, Ludwig received his first electric guitar. The following years were devoted to practicing guitar and making small compositions. At the age of seventeen, Norrkoping Symphony Orchestra premiered his first orchestral work - 5 minutes to Christmas.

His ardent interests in composing and the art of improvising directed him into undertaking studies at the jazz department at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm (2004-2007). During his second year in college, Ludwig formed a jazz quintet - Fabulous Five - with which he earned great success winning the national Swedish Jazzfest competition and touring Europe. Ludwig Goranssons versatile compositions cover a diverse range of musical styles. He revealed a keen attraction towards the idea of combining music with motion and creating complimentary film music and soon he was getting commissions writing jingles for MTV and Swedish Television.

In spring 2007 Ludwig was awarded 1st prize in the European film music competition "The unheard battle", held in Amsterdam. As the winner, he was exclusively signed to the worldwide music company Massive Music and immediately commenced on working with them. Ludwig recently moved to Los Angeles launching his studies in Scoring for Motion Picture and Television at Thornton School of Music (USC).

Official HH Band

Happy Holidays has teamed up with the California Sensation, ' Venus Infers '(www.myspace.com/venusinfers)

Their song 'London's Raining' will be the HH single and the music video will be released this Christmas!

41550029.JPG

Venus Infers comes from Orange County, but is not an Orange County band. The band features lead singer/songwriter Davis Fetter on guitar/vocals - your next Dior Homme'd version of Julian Casablancas. Next is Drummer Steve "Steisel" Wilmot - a classically trained Keith Moon.
There's Elliot Richardson on guitar/backup vocals - the elder statesman with the riffs and demeanour to impress even Noel Gallagher. And of course Richard Marion on bass/backup vocals - who looks and sounds as if he could be in the next Libertines.

VenusInfers is proud to celebrate the release of "VenusInfers...(the white album)" - the brand new 6-song E.P. So far critics are saying Venus Infers is "Perking up the ears of industry kids everywhere with a new E.P. that they celebrated the release of last night at a very packed
Detroit Bar. And truth be told, when you hear the hooks on 'London's Raining' - which is as anthemic and memorable as anything coming out of the UK right now." - LA Underground.

No strangers to local press, VenusInfers were featured in Riviera's Super-Sexy Issue that stated "All members of the band are sexy-yes even the drummer! None of that would matter (much!) if they didn't have talent, which the indie darlings in VenusInfers have." - Riviera
Magazine. Also, OC Weekly said "OC quartet VenusInfers may be the best band ever to pun on a Velvet Underground song title." - OC Weekly.

Their music has been in consistent rotation on Indie 103.1FM and many college radio stations across the U.S. They featured tracks on compilation CDs from both Indie 103.1FM and TANKFARM Clothing. They have had our music heard on MTV shows The Real World and Road Rules, and are currently in the works toward placements on primetime U.S., British, and Canadian television programs.

The band is booked to continue gigging around the OC and LA areas including venues such as The Glasshouse and The House of Blues. We are planning a tour of the U.K. for the summer of 2008.
